Material selection
Silicone, polyurethane or a rigid solution must suit the casting chemistry, curing heat and release geometry. Flexibility alone does not establish durability. Test compatibility on a small sample and follow the supplier's temperature, mixing and application limits.
Product-specific checks
Water ratio, mixing and setting time affect plaster strength and finish. Compare samples made with the same recipe. Packing before adequate drying can cause moisture and surface problems. Check thin projections and corners against the intended demoulding direction.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
