Distinguish mould-wall thickness from the cast product's wall. Span, depth, material strength and external support must be assessed together; one millimetre value does not suit all shapes. Mark critical sections and verify filling, release and use strength on samples.
Product-specific checks
Compare internal compartment dimensions with the actual objects to be stored. Narrow deep pockets can trap air, while thin partitions can be stressed during release. Check access to each pocket, the bottom finish and partition strength on the sample.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
