Extending mould life
Service life depends on casting chemistry, heat, release strain and maintenance; a universal cycle count is not reliable. Record cycles and developing defects. Withdraw a mould before a small tear propagates and review geometry or release methods around stressed regions.
Product-specific checks
Compare internal compartment dimensions with the actual objects to be stored. Narrow deep pockets can trap air, while thin partitions can be stressed during release. Check access to each pocket, the bottom finish and partition strength on the sample.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
