Planning alignment keys
Keep keys away from fragile edges and filling paths, using strong regions that register easily. Fully symmetric placement may allow incorrect closure; consider a directional layout. Trial-close the mould to check complete engagement without displacing the part cavity.
Product-specific checks
Size ring slots, hanging projections and contact edges around the intended jewellery. Thin hooks can create undercuts and fragile sections. Test the sample for sharp flash, tipping and everyday access before approving the design.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
