Preparing to make a silicone mould
Secure a clean, dry master and check mould-box joints for leakage. Estimate material from enclosure volume minus master displacement. Prepare equipment before mixing to stay within working time, and test compatibility between the master surface and mould material.
Product-specific checks
Size ring slots, hanging projections and contact edges around the intended jewellery. Thin hooks can create undercuts and fragile sections. Test the sample for sharp flash, tipping and everyday access before approving the design.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
