Surface finish and detail transfer
A mould reproduces scratches and layer lines on the master too. Inspect critical surfaces under raking light and test coating compatibility. Reproducing a fine feature does not mean the casting material can retain it without breaking; assess the finished sample separately.
Product-specific checks
Size ring slots, hanging projections and contact edges around the intended jewellery. Thin hooks can create undercuts and fragile sections. Test the sample for sharp flash, tipping and everyday access before approving the design.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
