Preparing a 3D printed master
Choose orientation to reduce layer and support marks on critical surfaces. Clean and dry the master, then test whether coatings or resin residue interfere with mould curing. Recheck critical dimensions after sanding and coating, as finishing can change the fit.
Product-specific checks
Water ratio, mixing and setting time affect plaster strength and finish. Compare samples made with the same recipe. Packing before adequate drying can cause moisture and surface problems. Check thin projections and corners against the intended demoulding direction.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
