Base stability and use safety
Test stability with expected loads and use directions, not just an empty product. Assess flatness, centre of gravity and contact grip together. Decorative casting does not establish suitability for heat, food or electrical applications; verify the relevant material and product requirements separately.
Product-specific checks
Water ratio, mixing and setting time affect plaster strength and finish. Compare samples made with the same recipe. Packing before adequate drying can cause moisture and surface problems. Check thin projections and corners against the intended demoulding direction.
Application and sample checks
Define finished dimensions, casting material and critical surfaces first. Record production variables and reassess approval whenever the material or master changes; an earlier sample does not automatically validate a revised process.
